Job Description: Construction Project Manager
CLASSIFICATION PURPOSE
This exempt supervisory job classification is responsible for managing all aspects (e.g., gross margin, schedule, contract review and subcontracts, change orders) of individual projects from award bid through completion to ensure budget compliance, efficiency, and profitability; perform related work as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Manage multiple construction crews according to company goals and procedures
Review project plans, specs, and estimates for accuracy
Set up projects in the accounting system and establish budgets
Prepare submittal logs, job books, and subcontract agreements
Lead pre-construction meetings and communicate project scope
Oversee scheduling, job progress, materials, and client coordination
Manage subcontractors: contracts, scopes, timelines, and payments
Solve technical and on-site issues to ensure timely completion
Maintain and enforce use of the company Construction Manual
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report status updates
Conduct job site inspections and ensure quality control
Approve invoices and track change orders and purchase schedules
Supervise, train, and evaluate field staff and team performance
Collaborate with design/sales teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Ensure compliance with contracts, specifications, and company standards
Provide excellent service to clients, vendors, and internal staff
Report lost gross profit or project setbacks to executive leadership

An example of the preferred education, training, and/or experience that demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills, and competencies for this position includes at least five (5) years of landscape construction management experience similar to that described above.

License: A valid class C driver’s license, which must be maintained throughout employment in this job classification, is required at the time of appointment. Employees in this job classification may be required to use their own vehicle.
Language: Though not required, bilingual English and Spanish skills are desirable.
Certifications: No certifications are required of this job classification.
Working Conditions: Work is predominately in an office environment with associated noise, space, and computer screen exposure. Occasional travel to client locations, job sites, and meetings is expected as part of this position.
Background Investigation: Incumbents must have a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness. Misdemeanor and/or felony convictions may be disqualifying depending on type, number, severity, and recency. Prior to appointment, candidates may be subject to a background investigation and/or drug test.
Introductory Period: Incumbents appointed to this job classification serve an introductory period of 90 days.
Salary range: 80k to 100k DOE
